  • Second-in-command of The Denver Post’s sports department and oversee 11 reporters and a columnist, coaching them on crafting stories and using the best storytelling techniques.
  • Focus is on enterprise and investigations along with digital strategy.
  • Responsible for planning digital and print projects, in addition to writing features.
  • Created and author our popular daily sports newsletter, the Denver Sports Omelette, which arrives in readers’ inboxes at 6 a.m. Monday-Friday.

        Fort Collins Coloradoan (April 2016 – March 2017)
  •  Led a staff of three full-time and two part-time reporters and pushed an emphasis on enterprise reporting.
  • In 2016, the only publications in the United States to win more national awards from the Associated Press Sports Editors the the Coloradoan (10) were The Washington Post (16), The New York Times (15)  and The Seattle Times (11).
  • APSE Top 10 daily section, Sunday section, special section and website.
  • Broke story on internal investigation Colorado State University hid for two years regarding men’s basketball coach Larry Eustachy abusing his players.

Columnist & Digital Sports Manager

        Fort Collins Coloradoan (July 2014 – April 2016)
  • Manages digital sports content and strategy, working with reporters to determine the best way to deliver a story.
  • Programs nightly sports section fronts and maintains them during the day, basing story placement off of real-time data.
  • Produces and hosts live weekly CSU football talk show that’s streamed online and delivered as an iTunes podcast.
  • Writes a popular column four times a week delivering insight and analysis on sports in Northern Colorado.
